I know how annoying they can get. I get them all the time at my website.

Was it spam bots?

Having new members verifying their email when they join can help with that a lot. Not sure if you have that system at the moment or not.

I think it's on, but I'm not sure I was suprised to see this account online, when I tried to regisister it said email taken.

Using the Picture code security verification along with email verification can stop bots in their tracks, they arent that smart. But there could be those who manually create accounts.

They're usually there for free advertising. But they usually just get banned.
