Default What resolution do you use for designing, and why?

I find it a bit troublesome for me to design on my normal most comfortable resolution 1024x768, and yes I am a gamer but that distorts the timing and refresh rates on my computer, causing me to constantly resize my moniter.

But Anywho, When I do design I use 1280x960 when I design big graphics, perhaps someone knows how to make better use of resolutions so I dont have to resize and reset all my configs?

I just design at 1280x1024, since that is the size I use. :P
But, I usually re-size it to a 4:3 ratio like 1280x960 for other people. Sometimes, I'll also design in dual mode (2560x1024) or a higher 4:3, like 1600x1200.

Wow, I wish I could get that high and leave it that way, I like higher resolutions but my style of using the computer doesn't favor!.

By the way how does that affect how you design? Does it make you have to make things delibertly smaller or..

I don't do too much designing at that high of a resolution with Photoshop, but mroe with 3D programs. That doesn't really effect my design at all, aside from the fact that it takes longer for it to render.

would think that, high resolutions do take up alot more power from the system.

Hmm, maybe I will figure out a way to set it so that when I open programs or use certain resolutions my hertz and what not are reseted.
