I had recently upgraded from 2.4Ghz / 1GB Ram / NVida 6600 system to a Intel Dual-Core 3.2Ghz / 2 GB Ram / NVidea 6800 and it's smoking fast.

Mind you, both systems I've owned has been Intel (recently) but I have owned AMD as well. In all honestly, I would say Intel would be the winner, but AMD is coming out with a lot of different things lately trying to keep up to Intel.

Either way, I don't think I'll need to upgrade this box for quite some time.... it multitasks fine and I've yet to see a game that makes the screen lag. It's just not happening with these dual core machines. Gawd only knows what the dual core 2 and quad-core machine operates like. WOW

Try http://www.tigerdirect.ca I was able to pick and choose my desired system for all under $1000 CDN. To me, this beats paying $3,000 - $4,000 easy. Just pick and choose. If you want dual core:

- Buy the MB for under $150
- Buy the DualCore Processor for under $200
- Make sure you have RAM supporting the MB and Processor.

Done. Under $500 will get you the dual core base. The rest can be added overtime but don't waste too much time or your system will be soon obsolete

I prefer intel by a long shot. Similar quality in both, but intel takes it by a hair. Even so, intel's price range beats AMDs by far.
