Woah woah take it easy buddy. (Muffinman) I think a lot of people are going nuts with posts over this thing. There's no need to spam and bring year old topics from the dead.

Well why not? If the topic says "How old are you?" and i havent answered it and just joined even thou the topic was made 10 years ago, i have the rights to post my age in it.

We actively remove spam bots and regular visitors from attempting to spam the forum with useless jibber. We take spam very seriously as it affects the quality of our posting environment.

If a member wants to bring up threads from the past, this is not a problem. One reason I/we don't mind this is simply due to the fact that if an existing member had created that thread, and he/she hadn't returned to Pictual, they may receive the email and may want to click the latest response to perhaps come back and participate.

However, it's been mentioned before and I'll mention it again, Paying Per Post at Pictual will be an available option, but you guys can't sit there and expect Pictual to fund each and every posting member do you?

As long as the posts are kept somewhat an informative response, and not just a "yeah, mint I agree", then I don't see any problem. However, if you want to know how to build a forum and make it work, then it's all about quality of quantity. Sure some members won't register or become part of a forum with less than 1,000 members or less than 10,000 posts, but we will continue to build our position on the web and continue to provide at least some informative information along side with whatever else we have coming up .. In other words, I would rather have 1,000 amazing and informative articles about how to design or use design tools rather than 10 to 20,000 posts about "l33t, m1nt, r0ckz" type of replies. Not that any of you are.. just a heads up.

Take it easy. But please remember, Pictual is currently paying $20 PER MONTH (each month) to the top Pictual Poster on the forum. If you feel your peers have been spamming to win, you may use a function on the forum called "Bad Post (aka Report this Post)" so you can clearly pick out spam if you see it. This is where you as the pictual member can help out and keep everything in line where we cannot, but we're working on this.

But for the most part, let's not crap on others for participating... unless it's affecting you, and if it's affecting you, let's discuss this so we can all come to an agreement.

Peter

Ok I seriously need to clairify something here:

We brought Pictual back to life in the middle of the month. We then installed Top Posters and it's the 1st of the month RIGHT NOW (today) but the stats have not reset for some reason.

From what it looks like, Mifano has been the top poster for the month, but I'm not liking how this top posters script is not resetting the stats. I wanted this to reset to ensure the "flow and logic" of this top posters system would be fair.

As it seems, if we left it the way it is, mifano is the top poster, but seems like he can carry his existing post count into a new month. That's a huge unfair position he leaves everyone else in, so I'm working on this to make it reset each month.

Give me more time. We will stick to our word but this is something extremely unpredictable that has just happened so we're looking into fixing this ASAP.

Please standby

Wait. I noticed the last 24 hours the stats HAVE IN FACT reset by itself.
No problem. Maybe it is working without anything extra to be coded in. That's good news.

Anyways, Mifano, contact me via PM and share your paypal email. I'll forward payment and be sure to make announcement you are winner. Keep in mind we will not tolerate spam so if possible be sure to make each reply or new thread informative as possible

Regards,
Peter
